We are very excited to announce that two valuable members of the Aurnhammer team — our CEO Bill Aurnhammer and COO Donn Gobin — are invited to teach a class on the business aspect of mobile industry in New York University, School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

Offered in Fall 2013, The Business Side of iOS App Development is designed for independent mobile developers working on a shoestring budget. Bill and Donn will share their professional knowledge and opinions regarding the booming touchscreen industry. They refuse to build mobile apps out of easier, cheaper templates, because they insist on the philosophy that best mobile solutions should go along with clients’ broader marketing strategies.

As an experienced developer, Bill has a unique vision in the mobile business that leads Aurnhammer along the innovative path in technology. He is deeply involved in all client projects as the team’s go-to thinktank. Donn’s background in entertainment expands the company’s way of thinking. With past experience in television and film production and creative management, Donn is skillful in maximizing resources and overseeing production initiatives.

From a long-time collaboration in mobile, Bill and Donn understand that achieving consumer awareness and sales longevity for applications requires organizational and strategic planning that stands out in the crowded marketplace. They are more than happy to offer a course to help iOS developers better deal with the challenge of bringing market elegant and efficient solutions to strong customer needs. Whether the application faces individual consumers or businesses, the course’s framework gives it the best recommendations of succeeding in Appstore.

Based on the day-to-day working process, Bill and Donn structured the course around the basic steps of mobile app production. From brainstorming to launching to maintenance, each class will introduce concepts and tools that have been validated by the Aurnhammer team. The students will also get first-hand mobile knowledge from field trips and professional speakers events.

“We have gone through puzzled phases when we first entered the mobile industry,” said Bill, “So we want to shed light on the paths of new mobile developers to help them create applications that has potential user demand, creates values for businesses, and proves technically feasible.”

Come join Bill and Donn to learn how to successfully market your mobile inspirations!

NEW BRITAIN, Conn., Nov. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Stanley® announced today the introduction of its redesigned level app, now for iPad® and new iPhone® models. This free app is available online at the Apple App Store and brings users the accuracy and reliability they are accustomed to with traditional Stanley® levels in virtual form. “With over five million iPhone 5s sold in its first weekend alone, we are excited to offer our customers a revamped app compatible with features like Retina™ display,” said Todd Langston, Director of Brand Marketing. Two virtual levels are included in the app which emulate existing Stanley® levels; choose from our classic cherry wood or popular yellow FatMax.

The Stanley® level app is ideal for simple jobs like hanging pictures, mounting shelves and more when you don’t have a conventional level available. “Convenient and portable, it’s a must have app for everyone from the professional contractor to the novice DIY-er,” says Langston. This app combines more than a century’s worth of hand tool manufacturing experience with today’s latest digital technology. It harnesses the technology of an accelerometer and a digital gyroscope located in select iPhone and iPad models, to generate an understanding of where the device is in space. After an initial calibration, the bubble will read an angle up to 90 degrees and will indicate 0 degrees when you are level, with crisp, easy to read numbers.

The Stanley® Level App is available for free at the Apple App Store and is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.

New York, New York – What has everybody from professional artists to creative kids all torn up? It’s “Tear Art,” the new app just launched by Aurnhammer, a leading developer of creative tools for Apple family of mobile platforms. “Tear Art” is how self-portraits by Picasso and van Gogh were merged in alternating, jagged stripes that reveal that how much their visions had in common. “Tear Art” is why a headshot of that politician you love to hate is juxtaposed with the cover of “Milli Vanilli’s Greatest Hits.” And “Tear Art” is the tool that makes instant artists of users ranging from teenagers to retirees, in whose hands it reinvents existing pictures to create new images that are often funny and sometimes shocking, but always deeply personal and original.

The “Tear Art” app is based on the creative visual technique pioneered in Paris during the late 1940s, when legendary nouveau realisme artists like Francois Dufrene and Mimmo Rotella combined mass market visuals with street art by tearing off sections of posters on public walls, partially revealing the layers of earlier posters beneath. The resulting juxtapositions were by turns comical, jarring, ironic, and strangely beautiful.

The new “Tear Art” app brings this opportunity for spontaneous creativity and “accidental” art to Apple’s suite of mobile platforms. By dragging a finger across the screen, a “Tear Art” user slashes away at the top image, uncovering what is below. (Dragging quickly creates a bigger tear; dragging slowly makes a smaller, more precise cut.) “Tear Art” comes with five layers of pre-loaded images, plus a tool to import additional images from the user’s own libraries of photos and album covers, or from anywhere on the web. The images created by “Tear Art” users can also be shared via Facebook, Twitter, and a slew of other social media platforms, as well as through e-mail. “Tear Art” has especially captivated users of Instagram, where users are creating and sharing images at a furious pace, alternately inspiring and competing with each other. On Instagram and Twitter, indexing pieces of “Tear Art” with hashtags makes it easy not only to share, but also to search for works themed to a user’s specific interests.

“‘Tear Art’ is already being used in ways we hadn’t thought of,” says Aurnhammer president and co-founder Paul McCarthy. “Because we made it so simple to use, kids and amateurs love it. But professional artists, liberated from complexity, are also embracing ‘Tear Art’ as a way to blend the intentional and incidental in ways that surprise even themselves.”

“Tear Art” is inspired by the decollage movement that took hold among European artists in the mid-20th century. Named for the French word meaning “to take off” or “unglue,” decollage was both literally and figuratively the opposite of collage, which seeks to create art by adding new elements. Decollage instead reveals art by stripping away pieces of what is already there. Artists like Marcel Marien wandered the streets of European cities slashing away pieces of advertising and public notices, exposing (and juxtaposing) the layers of previous images hidden beneath. The resulting “lacerated posters” became a movement among Surrealists, and are now remembered as some of the earliest examples of Pop Art.

“The creative spark that inspired the first pieces of ‘Tear Art’ decades ago are still there in everybody,” said Bill Aurnhammer, co-founder and CEO of Aurnhammer. “It is an impulse that’s spontaneous and a little bit rebellious. But the opportunity to practice decollage in the 21st century has almost disappeared: Street posters have been largely replaced by flat-panel LCD screens, and trying to tinker with either one might get you arrested. So we’ve created a digital palette and tool that lets everybody try their hand at revealing what’s buried beneath the surface.”

“‘Tear Art’ lets anybody mix not only different images, but also textures and exposures and other media, like type,” agrees McCarthy. “And this format allows users to select the images they’ll be working with, rather than being limited to what they happen to find. And being able to choose pictures that have a personal significance leverages the technology to allow for a much deeper kind of creativity. Pulling layers away from the surface is not only fun – it can actually reveal to you things about yourself.”

MIDDLETON, MA, August 11, 2011 — For the past 15 years, Extra Innings has been providing specialized baseball and softball instruction at their 40 centers across the country. Now, the entire world will have access to personal coaching with the launch of Extra Innings Mobile Instructor iOS app released on August 5.

Developed by Aurnhammer LLC, the Mobile Instructor app allows users to record and upload video and then provide their own commentary using a “white board” technique. Retailing for $4.99, the app also gives access to online ordering at Extra Innings’ Pro Shops where baseball and softball equipment and apparel can be purchased directly through the app as well as access to the Extra Innings center finder. Alerts for special events such as hitting and pitching clinics and exclusive Pro Shop retail offers are also available.

Through the app, the user has the choice to submit the recorded videos to Extra Innings instructors, most of whom are ex-Major League and Minor League ball players, for professional analysis. Video submissions are sold in bundles of three; one submission with three videos costs $14.99, three submissions with nine videos for $39.99 and six submissions with 18 videos for $74.99. Submissions purchased do not expire. For a limited time, Extra Innings is giving away one free analysis submission with the download.

Users can take video of a baseball or softball player in action and submit that video through the site. Within 48 hours an Extra Innings instructor will respond with critique of the player’s form and technique and show where improvements can be made. By entering a zip code, if the user is near an Extra Innings facility, the videos will be critiqued by an instructor from their local Extra Innings facility. If the user does not have an Extra Innings facility nearby, the videos will be reviewed by instructors at Extra Innings’ company headquarters.

“This is groundbreaking within the industry,” said Extra Innings’ founder Rob Nash. “Whether you’re a parent with little knowledge of baseball looking to give your child a leg up or an elite player who is having a bad day during a tournament, our instructors can help improve any player’s game. Additionally, if players are already receiving personal instruction at an Extra Innings facility, these videos will make in-person instruction sessions more effective.”

From its inception, Extra Innings recognized the strong demand for a specialized baseball/softball training center that also sold apparel and equipment. The first Extra Innings was opened in 1996 as a small 8,000-square-foot facility in Danvers, Mass., outside Boston, by Nash and Joe Luis, former minor-league players from the same Massachusetts town who had each been providing baseball instruction on their own after their playing careers ended. Recognizing the strong demand for a specialized baseball/softball training center that also sold equipment, Extra Innings moved into its flagship 17,000-square-foot facility in Middleton, Mass., in 1998.

The Extra Innings Franchise Company was started in 2004 to franchise the unique and profitable business model throughout the United States. Extra Innings has nearly 40 locations in 17 states in all regions of the country and projections call for close to 60 locations to be in operation by the end of 2012.
